The church is located near the Palace of the Holy Office and serves the community of the Missionaries of Charity, the order founded by Mother Theresa of Calcutta.


The restoration was extensive and included removal of salt deposits on murals, restoration of marble, cleaning of all pictorial surfaces, restoration of all windows.
